Technology Addiction (2)

This article has similar information to the previous article. Although, it obviously has different information as well. It mentions that technology can be a “gateway drug”. A gateway drug is basically like any illegal substance taken or used for the first time and some people end up abusing that drug as well as many others. It’s a concern since those “addicted” to technology are more likely to also use substances, like marijuana, than those who have healthier relationships to technology. This caught my eye though. People in education and civic development found piquing students’ interest in social justice or commentary videos on sites like YouTube or TEDTalk, student engagement with world issues is enhanced. Which is way better than videos like pranks or “winter hauls”. Yet, instead of using technology for bad, promote trying to use technology for improving creativity, socialization to local peers, and metacognition. It just depends on if the individual is willing to balance use of technology in a proper and balanced way.

She observed how athletes got injured and how to help the injury. With that, she learned more about the human body and what to do, or not to do. In the future, she hopes to be the best physical therapist and run her own business involving physical therapy. Victoria sometimes spends her time reading, playing video games, and exercising.
